UA Science Cafe series is back in bigger setting

The University of Arizona Flandreau Science Center's Science Cafe series is starting off its fall series at the Cushing St. Bar & Restaurant near the Tucson Convention Center.

These casual forums that bring UA researchers out to talk informally about current science topics, will be held at 6 pm on the second Tuesday of each month.

Science Cafes are increasingly popular all over the country. The Sigma Xi research society has partnered with WGBH Educational Foundation to launch a comprehensive Web site at www.sciencecafes.org on how to start up a science cafe or find one in different locations around the country.

"Sigma Xi is a leader in a revolution in communicating science in the U.S. This revolution is taking place in cafés, bars, bookstores, libraries, museums and theaters. Science Cafés help the public connect with science. Scientists and engineers informally share their research during a conversational exchange in a friendly setting."
