Kingman wind farm due by April

Western Wind Energy Corp. put out a press release announcing that Gamesa, a world-leading player in the design, manufacture and maintenance of wind turbines, has been awarded a contract to supply a total of 10 MW of capacity for the wind farm being developed by Western Wind Energy.

The farm will be comprised of five G90-2.0 MW wind turbines on 78-meter towers. Gamesa will oversee the wind turbine installation, which is planned for April 2011.

The project is under construction on 1,110 acres owned by Western in Kingman, according to the company web site. The company says they have signed a power purchase agreement with UNS Electric, Inc, a subsidiary of UniSource Energy Corporation of Arizona ("UNS") which is parent of Tucson Electric Power, for a new fully integrated combined wind and solar (photo voltaic "PV") energy project.
