Arizona online oil and gas viewer

We launched another online interactive viewer that includes every well permitted by the Arizona Oil & Gas Conservation Commission.  This includes exploration and production wells for oil, gas, helium, carbon dioxide, and geothermal.  There are over 1,100 wells in the database with over 2,500 geophysical well logs  that were recorded in those wells.  http://welldata.azogcc.az.gov/

Only a handful of these wells were ever producers.   In recent years there have only been 14-16 producing oil wells in the state, all on the northern edge of the Navajo Reservation.     Arizona has been a significant producer of helium in the past but that only involved a small number of wells.  The rest of the holes were 'dry holes.'

A lot of the work digitizing the wells and logs was supported by the US Dept. of Energy for the National Geothermal Data System to support more geothermal exploration and development.   www.geothermaldata.org
